Since I’ve been hosting a weekly radio show and mingling regularly with a few Beatles experts, it’s gotten me to further my research into the Fab Four; especially my yearly holiday program.
I was surprised to find that just like Star Wars, other media giants have what I call “holiday regrets”. I found it interesting that, just like how George Lucas tried to bury his 1978 holiday special, I’ve found that this part of Beatles history has been kept from a lot of the general public for decades. With Yoko vocalizing and Tiny Tim attempting Nowhere Man, I can see why any living Beatles members might want to keep these recordings a secret. In fact, three of their records are not even available on YouTube so I tried to link as many as I could.
The most interesting thing about the “records” is that they were pressed on flexidisc, like the specials you used to see in teen magazines, although specifically marketing to Beatles fan club members.
